The California dream
The City of Lights is  welcoming at first glance. Lauriane has just arrived for a semester at UCLA but has lost her way on the huge campus. Dora has decided to return to Switzerland. Roger has laid the foundations for his career, but the daily life of an architect in Los Angeles is full of administrative pitfalls. Between her artistic and family life, Francesca doesn't have a minute to spare. When a driver & bodyguard takes off his suit, Randy leads a simple and sometimes lonely life.

When dreams turn into nightmares 
In Los Angeles, dreams can turn into nightmares. Roger's clients almost lost their home in a fire, Francesca makes fire the theme of an exhibition, Dora prepares to sell her house and parts with her paintings, Lauriane prepares for her exams, and Randy climbs the Hollywood Hills.

Taste freedom and navigate through constraints 
Roger defends a construction project before a commission in San Francisco, while Dora's husband struggles with his opiate addiction. Lauriane finally treats herself to a night off, Francesca works on an artistic collaboration project, and Randy watches the Super Bowl with his friends from Ticino.

Body-to-body combat
Body against body, moving, being active. That's life in Los Angeles. It's also the sport of Randy, a great football player. Dora is fighting to sell her house at the price she has set – and a surprise awaits her. It gets dark early, but people work late in Los Angeles, as Roger knows. The multifaceted exhibition by Francesca and her friends is taking shape, and Lauriane decides to get her driver's license.

Joy reigns in Los Angeles 
Everyone has achieved their goal: Francesca enjoys the opening of their group exhibition, Randy drives his client to the Oscar night, Dora hosts a goodbye party, Lauriane's study results at UCLA are positive, and Roger and Susanne enjoy life in the fresh air on their farm.
